The Irving High School Toy Tigers hosted a group of dancers all the way from Tokyo this week. The Japanese drill team, SuperNova, is in town for the National Dance Alliance (NDA) All-Star Nationals which welcomes competitive teams from across the globe. During their stay, dancers met with the Toy Tigers and Irving High students for a day of dance and camaraderie.

The team used the school’s dance studio and showcased their competition routine as students watched on. This unique opportunity and connection was a result of Toy Tigers director Tasha Franklin who met Super Nova’s coaches while judging the Miss Dance Drill Team Japan in 2014. Students from both countries united over their passion, proving just how dance and music are universal languages.
