Dance students and educators from across the state invaded Houston recently for the 2020 Texas Dance Educators’ Association (TDEA) Convention. Among them were two of our very own students from Irving and Nimitz High School drill teams.

Both earned the coveted spot of representing their campus, joining nearly 250 Texas dancers for a weekend of training and exploration. During the convention, students took master classes from world-famous choreographers, attended leadership seminars and met college directors to learn about auditions and scholarships. Their experience culminated with the honor of performing as members of the TDEA All-State Drill Team. The all-state piece was choreographed by celebrity choreographer Teddy Forance, who has shared the stage with artists such as Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga and Kelly Clarkson.
